Feb 4th Part Two

Feb 3rd

I got up this morning and went for a run. Sam had already left with another friend that was on the trip to go and see some things over the course of the day. They were going to go see a bunch of things, but I missed them. I needed to catch up on my sleep anyways. I sat around being lazy for a long time. The flat was really quite because a bunch of the people here had left for Paris really early this morning and a lot of people were out doing stuff, so it was really calm. I decided to go you to the National Gallery. I took a bus over there and walked around Trafalgar Square before heading in. I went into the gallery that had works from 1500 to 1600. So these were works by Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, and their contemporaries. They vast variety of pieces was also really cool. There were pieces that had really simple coloring to ones with amazing vibrancy. Then there were pieces with incredibly intricate backgrounds to some of that were just painted a solid color. It was really cool to see. I spent around 3 and half hours walking around there by myself. It was nice to take a day to just be by myself and really set my own pace.

I took the tube back and just a little while later I was asked if I wanted to go to eat in Brixton at a Caribbean place. It sounded like a lot of fun, so off I went. It was a kind of long tube ride, but not really that bad. The way back was longer because the Tube was running really slowly in the direction we needed to go, so we took a detour. The place itself was really good. I had a West Indian Curry that was just delicious. The other guys had some jerked chicken, which they really liked as well. We sat around and talked for a long time after we were done and then came back to the flat. Just as I was getting ready for bed, I had a chance to talk to Katie for a while, that was really nice. We haven’t done that for quite a while, so it was really nice to get back in touch.
